These high quality American made Pinion Gears offer engine builders the most common sizes needed when installing performance cams or rebuilding motors. Cam and pinion gears must be matched for pitch diameter to provide correct gear lash. If the gear lash is too tight the motor will whine. If the gear lash is too loose the motor will knock. Most aftermarket cams come with red color coded gears. A cam of a certain color code usually should be used with a pinion gear of the same color code, but matching tolerance variations in the crankcase and the cam cover may require the use of a larger or smaller pinion gear. Geras are measured over two .105″ gauge pins. Fits Big Twin 1939/1989 as listed.
